Pediatric Speech Therapy
Neurodiversity-affirming care for communication and feeding
At Avec Therapy, we believe kids thrive when they’re supported in being exactly who they are. Our therapy is rooted in play, connection, and respect — with a focus on supporting real-life skills that matter to your child and your family.
Speech and Language Therapy
We provide neurodiversity-affirming, child-led speech therapy that centers each child’s unique way of communicating. Whether your child is just beginning to talk, uses an AAC device, or is navigating a speech sound disorder, our approach is grounded in play, connection, and responsiveness.
We support:
Late talkers and language delays
Autistic children and gestalt language processors
Non-speaking and minimally-speaking children
Speech sound disorders, including childhood apraxia of speech
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Social-pragmatic communication support
What to expect:
Play-based sessions that follow your child’s lead
Respect for all communication styles, including echolalia, gestures, and AAC
Parent coaching to support carryover at home
Goals that reflect your values and your child’s real-life needs
We don't “fix” kids — we support them in growing their confidence, autonomy, and communication in ways that feel authentic to them.
Feeding Therapy
We use responsive, trust-based feeding therapy to help children build positive relationships with food, mealtimes, and their own bodies. No pressure, no tricks — just compassionate support that honors your child’s cues and preferences.
We support:
Picky/selective eating
Oral-motor and sensory-based feeding challenges
Difficulty transitioning to solids or new textures
Mealtime routines that feel stressful or overwhelming
Feeding concerns related to autism, ADHD, or sensory processing
What to expect:
Responsive feeding strategies grounded in the SOS Approach to Feeding
Playful exploration of food without pressure or force
Collaboration with families to create safe, enjoyable mealtime experiences
Respect for your child’s sensory needs, appetite, and autonomy
We believe that eating is about more than nutrition — it’s about connection, trust, and joy at the table.
